“It's Not Easy Being Green (or Smol!)” a Standard One Shot in the Goblin Errands system. Led by Nona de Koning.

You have just joined a new family of goblins and want to make yourselves useful. Clearly, the best way to do so is by running errands for your new community: Buying vegetables at the market or procuring the services of a local wizard to get your wise leader unstuck from his chamber pot. Sounds easy, right? Well, unfortunately, you've got to contend with a world built for folk much bigger and stronger than you. And on top of that, you're both easily distracted and full of energy! Clearly a winning combination! Pick from various entertaining Goblin types like the Rascal, the Rambler, the Nibbler or the Whiz-Wart. Play to see how things go wrong, complications mount, and these ordinary, everyday tasks spiral into hilarious (mis)adventures. This game will be great if you like PbtA, goblins, being tiny, creative problem solving, shenanigans. This system is especially great for new players. The game runner is very familiar with this system. The game runner will provide playbooks ahead of time, so you can customize your character.

“A Winter Together” is a Standard One Shot in the Deck system. Led by Ansel Burch

The pirate ship, The Cauldron is grounded on a big rock just off the coast of Ouness, a small and remote island on the Northern end of the archipelago. The locals seem slow to trust but like it or not, you're stuck together until the weather clears in the spring. The sailors bring with them stories of the wide world and gifts from the edges of believability. The colonists offer a perspective that the sailors might just want to consider and a shelter from the weather to come.

This game will be great if you like stories of communities on the edge and people finding common ground despite conflicting interests.

“Just Another Day” a Living World One Shot in the Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast system. Led by Nona de Koning.

“Just Another Day” a Living World One Shot in the Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast system. Led by Nona de Koning.

Welcome to Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast, a sprawling old house outside time and space, where it’s always September 15th and there’s always room for a new visitor. The unusual blend of premade characters, modular rules, and legacy mechanics makes this TTRPG perfect for pick-up play: busy players can drop in and out without ever feeling lost, and anyone who wants to jump in can make a long-term impact without a long-term commitment. Yazeba's is yours to change. Perhaps Residents will leave or change, Guests will become far more important than you expected, or Journeys will take unexpected twists. Take control of one of the 7 long-term residents of the B&B or choose from a cast of 50 quirky guests, each of whom has their own ongoing storylines. Chapters can be played in any order and include things like lazy afternoons, frightful nights, insurmountable chores, and zany competitions, so every adventure is full of surprises. When we were little, we were taught that a story is a sequence of events with a beginning, middle and end. But that’s not how all stories work: some loop around on themselves, some are told out of sequence, and some never end. After we play one Chapter, we can play another without worrying too much about whether it came before or after the Chapter we just played, or how much time has passed. Think back on that prolific paperback series you may have once read: you might have missed a few issues, or read them out of order, but you were always able to figure out what was going on. That's what Yazeba's is going for! Chapters are short, so we may play more than one adventure during our session, swapping characters in between! If you've played Yazeba's before, feel free to let your gamerunner know which chapters you've played, so you can try some new ones.

This game will be great if you like more freeform roleplay, a push-and-pull between weaknesses and strengths, a cast of colorful characters, pickup style play, unlocking things, legacy boardgames. New players are welcome. The game runner is very familiar with this system. The game comes with pre-existing characters to pick from.

“The Missing Muffin Tin” a Standard One Shot in the Something Tookish system. Led by Nona de Koning.
Mar

“The Missing Muffin Tin” a Standard One Shot in the Something Tookish system. Led by Nona de Koning.

In Something Tookish, you play as a Halfling in a cozy little village, solving various mysteries. Not everything is a crime and there's nothing as gruesome as murder, oh no, they wouldn't do that! But petty theft or spats between neighbours also require someone to meddle solve them, right? And you're just the Halflings for the job! This game uses the Carved from Brindlewood framework. This means (just like in Brindlewood Bay), there is no canon solution to the mysteries. It's up to the players to come up with a clever way to tie everything together. However, there are plenty of clues to find and plenty of locals to meet! This oneshot is for 2-4 Halflings and will take about 3 hours. Our session pitch: "The village is buzzing with excitement, for the annual baking contest takes place today! Everyone is busy with preparations, for even those who are not entering a baked good into the competition have been pressed into service by someone who is. You arrive very early, only to find a mortified Belinda Sackville, who approaches you in a panic. Can you help find her missing muffin tin? She promised to outdo herself this year and keep up her winning streak!" This game will be great if you like PbtA, cozy mysteries, community, small-town village life, baking, poems, sing-alongs and Carved from Brindlewood, New players welcome. The game runner is very familiar with this system. The game runner will provide playbooks ahead of time, so you can customize your character.

“The Cure” a Standard One Shot in the Monster Care Squad system. Led by Nona de Koning.
Mar

“The Cure” a Standard One Shot in the Monster Care Squad system. Led by Nona de Koning.

Monster Care Squad is a non-violent RPG where you play as a member of an elite team of Monster Care Specialists. You work alongside your fellow specialists to investigate trouble, diagnose illnesses, and treat the horrible Wounds inflicted by the False Gold. How you will go about this will largely depend on the Monsters your group decides to treat. Monsters range in scale from titanic megafauna to little bigger than your hand and in damage potential from cataclysmic world enders to mischievous trouble makers. In the world of Ald-Amura, Monsters and Humans live in harmony with one another. Humans care for Monsters, providing food and shelter for them, while Monsters lend their power, magic, and might to humanity. But the peace between Humans and Monsters is now an uneasy one. Monsters are afraid of who might be infecting their kind with the False Gold illness, Humans are afraid of their cities being leveled. Everyone is on eggshells and the beautiful balance that typified Ald-Amura is on the brink of collapse. However, you will find no rules for intentionally inflicting pain on anyone or anything in this game, as the first rule of being a Monster Care Specialist is to Do No Harm. This is a PbtA-style game with three distinct phases of play: Diagnosis (what's wrong and how to treat it), Synthesis (making the right cure) and Symbiosis (applying the actual treatment). We'll go through one entire loop, meeting and treating a single Monster. This game will be great if you like PbtA, playing healers, caring for animals, distinct phases of play. New players are welcome. The game runner will provide pregenerated characters to pick from.

“Tavern Travels” a Standard One Shot in the Broken Cask Society system. Led by Nona de Koning.

“Tavern Travels” a Standard One Shot in the Broken Cask Society system. Led by Nona de Koning.

The Broken Cask Society is a GMless RPG for up to 4 players where we venture across the wilds in search of the finest inns of the land! You create your character using various playbooks (archetypes), and trek through a fantasy world as a member of the Broken Cask Society. Some characters may care more about the journey, others are all about the drinks or care mostly about the food. Together our group will ford rivers, scale mountains, and blaze trails to the most famous (and infamous) inns, pubs, taverns, wineries, drinkeries, alehouses, and meaderies in the land. Through the use of random tables we'll find out what happens and create a wonderful, cozy story as we go. Prepare for the journey and travel across the land to explore a new inn. Once there, we'll take some time to feast & judge its offerings, before resting so we can do it all over again next time. This game will be great if you like PbtA, taverns, cozy fantasy stories, collaborative storytelling and random tables. New players are welcome. The game runner is very familiar with this system. The game runner will provide playbooks ahead of time, so you can customize your character.
