The wealthy Buchanan family has held a hog hunt as a rite of passage for their young men since they came into the New Orleans aristocracy. This year, the current patriarch Daniel Buchanan and his brother Warren accompany Daniel's son, Norm, to go through the same ceremony. Along with a well-paid hunting guide, they departed for Fontainebleau across Lake Pontchartrain ten days ago and are yet to return. Two other wardens like yourself were sent to retrieve them five days ago. A messenger pigeon was due back two days ago, but it never came.
