“Dream of Dragons” a Standard One Shot in the Isles of Mist (an original fantasy system). Led by Ashton MacSaylor
When a mysterious egg found in a small village of the Green Vales is identified as a dragon egg, a group of young adventurers must undertake the dangerous journey to the capital at Menaleth to bring the egg to the Queen--before any adult dragons discover the egg's presence and get the wrong idea!
But the journey is complicated by strange dreams that these young heroes start experiencing, in which they themselves seem to be soaring through the air, on wings that look suspiciously like dragon wings...
(This game will be run in Isles of Mist, a high fantasy system that breaks from the Tolkien-esque tradition. This is the official gaming system of Story Tables, used to run family-friendly games as an after-school and summer program for ages 9-18, and sometimes parents.)"
This game will be great if you like Miyazaki anime-style stories and coming-of-age adventure stories.
The game runner will provide Adept (lvl 2) characters.
This session will be especially good for new players.

“The Weeper of Hail Street” a Playtest of an original RPG system, led by Ashton MacSaylor
Hail Street runs through the heart of an old neighborhood on the outskirts of a major New England metropolis. It’s renowned for its elegiac charm, with an old church and graveyard, a park, several crumbling apartment buildings, and neighborhood lore that runs deep, with more than its fair share of old ghost stories, murders, and missing persons cases.
Now, a new ghost story haunts the street: several people have claimed to hear the sound of an invisible woman crying as she walks down the street. Some of the Latino residents whisper of the myth of La Llorona, the Weeping Woman, while others claim that it’s the ghost of a madwoman who just died, still grieving over the children she lost two decades ago. You may be an amateur paranormal investigator, a concerned resident, or a relative of your Great Aunt Amelia, who has determined to get to the bottom of this and asked you to help, since she can’t leave home, given her health. Who is the Weeper of Hail Street?
This is a playtest of my original, modern horror and mystery RPG system. I've been working on it for years, with excellent reviews, but recently made some overhauls to the system that I'm eager to try out. The premise is that you play regular people in a modern world, and you--out of game--don't know if there's something supernatural going on or not.
This game will be great if you like modern games with an element of mystery, where you actually don't know if there's a ghost, or a monster, or a rational explanation. Consider inspiration sources like X-Files, Twilight Zone, and Monster-of-the-Week shows like Buffy, except when the game starts, you actually have no idea if there's really a monster or a rational explanation.
We will build characters in session (it's very quick!).
This session will be especially good for new players.

This game will be hosted in room #2 of the con discord. Spectators are welcome.
CW: This game includes some very dark themes. It is not appropriate for children. That said, the darkest content will be off-screen, behind a veil. We will use the X-Card protocol for personal safety.
