Making Moves

First off, happy birthday to my amazing wife..give her some love if you're connected on social or you can leave a message in the comments and I'll pass it along.

Running a YouTube channel casually is really fun. Aside from the stress if getting ready in time after work every week, it really has been a hoot.

I super appreciate all the folx who are kind enough to share the Dungeon Barkeep material around. Unfortunately, by streaming to Facebook and YouTube simultaneously a lot of that sharing was focused on my personal Facebook page. It is my honest opinion that Facebook is no longer friendly for small project promotion. The material I work hardest on cannot hope to get a dozen responses while I can take a couple photos on building legos and get hundreds of responses. So, astute observers will likely have noticed that I've been making moves to try other ways (like this website and the associated mailing list) to keep people up to speed on releases. I'll keep using automated posting options to cross post things to Facebook but I doubt I'll be spending much effort on facebook promotion posts going forward.

All this to say, the Dungeon Barkeep is (as previously announced on the channel) going to be on YouTube alone as of this past week. This should make it much more obvious how to share in a way that actually builds my follower count: direct from the YouTube source. Is that important? No. Is it encouraging every time I get a new subscriber notification? Yes, indeedy.

To help motivate this change as well as getting a handle on how all the YouTube tools work I'm doing some extra live streams that you'll only know about from YouTube notifications. Friday night (3/5) was the first attempt and we had a great time. So, to give you a little extra fun. Here is the drink from tonight's "Surprise Round" stream, I present the "Potion of Courage"

2oz vodka

2oz brandy

Juice of one lime

1oz grenadine

Dash molasses bitters

Shake with ice, strain into a rocks glass and top with ginger ale.
